Dream Vacation(s)

Our upcoming travel has me all excited and giddy and thinking about MORE travel! We have a relatively free trip in Chicago this summer and we are contemplating a trip to Iceland late in 2014. All this travel and research has me day dreaming about my ultimate dream vacation(s)... I actually have two (go figure I couldn't choose).

My first one is to visit Croatia, Slovenia and that general area of the Mediterranean. I have found a Trafalgar Tour that does the job but its expensive! If we took that one I would get to cross four  countries off my bucket list! YAY! And I also found a cruise that also visits these countries for much less (I would only get to cross of three countries though). I hope that these are still available when we're ready to take them.

Next would be going out of my comfort zone 100% and head in the opposite direction of Europe... Thailand and Cambodia. Trafalgar also has a tour for this. It would be 12 days in Thailand and an additional four in Cambodia.

Places to Visit While They Are Still Cheap

If you are looking for a nice place to relax and get some exploring done on the cheap then you're going to love this list. Below are some places that are inexpensive to stay (but might cost you a pretty penny to get there). Some of these places are still under the radar so visit before they become the next Saint Tropez or Monaco. See more reasons to visit in the original article here.

Ukraine
South Korea
Tasmania, Australia
Nicaragua
Cambodia -
I can't wait to make it here! I am really hoping that we have enough MileagePlus points to get us there for free. I have been doing some looking on TripAdvisor and I am finding places to stay for $12 a night!
Sri Lanka
Turkey - I recently read that the Turkish people are not fond of Americans L I would still love to visit their beaches some day.
Panama
Gulf Coast - So glad a US destination made the list. When we have kids I want to take them on their first beach trip to Destin, FL the white sands look amazing. But knowing us we'll probably find a last minute deal to Hawaii and jump on it!
Croatia - Another dream location of mine and a possible back up if the Thailand/Cambodia trip doesn’t work out.

8 Places to See Before You Have Kids

Paris, France - Paris is the most visited city in the world with 45 million visitors each year. Paris is on my bucket list no doubt! But I think you could easily take a long weekend here and have family watch your kids. That is my tentative plan on visiting Paris, a nice romantic vacation away from the kids!

New Zealand - New Zealand seems to offer so much, it has beautiful rugged mountains along with crystal waters. It is also on the bucket list but I think this one will be on there for a while, although it would be nice money doesn't grow on trees! Plus that flight is so long I think I would want to be over on that side of the world for a month before flying back.

Disney World - Did it when I was a kid and looking at it as an adult it's just another theme park so I think I'll stick with the memories I have from when I was in 5th grade! If you're into Disney stuff then by all means go! You don’t have go when school is out so you can go in the off season and save money!

Route 66 Road Trip - Eh, nothing I see on it seems super awesome…plus I was able to watch Karl Pilkington do Route 66 on Season 2 of Idiot Abroad!

Napa Valley, CA - I think Napa would be another nice romantic weekend away from the kids!

Macao - Located near Hong Kong ...its another place in a far off land that costs a pretty penny to get to…

Angkor Wat - Now this is on my MUST SEE list!!!!! OMG I want to go there so BAD!!!! I am trying to talk the hubby into a trip to Thailand and Cambodia before we have kids. (we will be relying on mileage points for the flight!)

Transatlantic Cruise - Although this sounds like it might be fun, I think I would get bored spending SO MANY days at sea...I think its something like 18 days from Florida to Italy.

See original Yahoo! article here.

Where are some place that you think are worth visiting without kids? Any places you wish you had visited before you had kids?
